Prospect Invite-Performance List

Performance List

Last year Lane finished with a time of 8:06 in the 4x800 relay just behind York who was at 8:05. This year, Lane is seeded #2 with a time of 8:00. It looks like Lane is loading up on most of it's relays as the varsity team preps up for the post season. 4x1 is seeded at 43.4, 4x4 at 3:25.9, and 4x2 at a whoopin 1:31.3. If they hit those time, Lane's relays will be major factor at the CPS meet.

Lane varsity will be running at the Prospect Invite this Friday night vs York, Niles North, Lyons, and more!

Lane's 4x800 team is seeded with an 8:06 mark. This means they will likely be running their top 800 dogs: Lucas Beltran(jr)(above), Kevin Perez(jr), David Timlin(jr), and Marcelo Burbano(so).

Darius Scott is chased by Schaumburg defenders in a rare play resulting in a Simeon loss of yards. Simeon QB Robert Gregory threw for 5 touchdown passes and ran for two TD's in this game bursting with offensive fireworks.

Simeon survives a shootout in Schaumburg. Simeon was up 12 with about 9 minutes left before Schaumburg roared back. Shaumburg got the ball on it's own 15 yard line with about 4 minutes left and down by 5. They drove all they way to the Simeon 16 with about 40 seconds left. Schaumburg took two shots into the end zone - both were incomplete. The Simeon dream season continues.

Game was tied 36-36 at half time. Amazingly, it was the Simeon defense who helped win it as they "held" Schaumburg to "only" 14 points in the 2nd half. Schaumburg also made some mistakes with turnovers and dropped passes in the 2nd half to help the Schaumburg cause. Hats off to Schaumburg quarterback Iannotti. That guy is a beast. 6-3 big, great runner. Running Back Shepard Little was also amazing. Two kick returns for touchdowns. Had to easily have had 200+ yards. Schaumburg is a state caliber team. It is too bad these two teams faced each other so early in the playoffs. It was truly a fist fight between two offensive giants.

Packed stadium. Overflowing crowd. The Simeon side looked like Gately Stadium as it seemed as if half the south side was there.

The Game Everyone Has Been Waiting For

After Simeon rolled by all of their CPS opponents during the regular season, everyone could not wait to see how Simeon would do in the state playoffs. They passed their first test last week by crushing St. Ignatius 47-0. This Saturday they fill face their latest test. This time, it will be against the mighty Schaumburg Saxons. For those of you who have not been following Schaumburg, the Saxons are good REAL GOOD. Not only are they the Mid-suburban league west champions, but they also have a win against defending state champion Maine South on their resume.

This is the game everyone has been waiting for all year. Simeon against a good team in the state playoffs.

Schaumburg defense while solid is not going to stop the offensive firepower of Simeon. Simeon has Robert Gregory at QB and running back Horatio Banks. They are both rated number one in their positions in the city. But it's not just those two. Simeon has the top 2 rated wide receivers and the top lineman.

Shaumburg has their own offensive weapons, but Simeon's offense is better. I see a high scoring game but Simeon will just outscore them. It does not matter that this game is at Shaumburg. This is a focused team with only one goal: to play the best on Saturday. If Simeon plays their best, there is nothing that Shaumburg can do to stop them.
