Fast Stats: Farragut is the only team of the two to have played a varsity game yet this season. The Admirals, ranked No. 9 in the Chicago area by the Chicago Sun-Times and led by one of the city’s top players (Stimage), beat Bowman at the Lakeshore Classic in Gary, Ind. last week.

Boys Basketball State Supersectionals tonight
(winners make it to final 4)

North Chicago vs Crane
North Chicago has a habit of losing to CPS teams deep in the state playoffs. They lost to Marshall in 2008 and North Lawndale in 2009. They will have a hard time against a Crane team from the tough Red-West. At Crane, basketball is the ONLY sport. Crane is good again and is led by guards Kirean Woods and Kory Billups. I can't see North Chicago hanging the entire game by an Orr team that not only beat North Chicago earlier this season but has wins over Orr, North Lawndale, Riverside-Brookfield, Leo, St. Joseph, and Whitney Young.

Lindblom vs Brooks
City championship Brooks is on a roll and has victories over Whitney Young, Curie, Farragut, Morgan Park, and Harlan. I think this is a senior laden experienced once in a school history type of team for Brooks and will win easily.

Simeon vs Farragut
This is the game all eyes in the state will be looking out for. Most people are picking Simeon, But Simeon is not invunerable and has two losses in the season (Whitney Young and Benet).  Farragut shocked Whitney Young last week and their history says they are capable of an upset. Farragut was one of only a few teams that beat a Derrick Rose led Simeon team, when Farragut beat Simeon in 2007.
