Quincie Johnson Leads Dusable to Group C Lead After 9 Events
Quincie Johnson(jr) of Dusable prepares to make a long jump at the Group C Indoor City Meet Championship.
After 9 events Dusable leads the CPS Group C Indoor Boys Track championships over 2nd place Clark and 3rd place Urban Prep Bronzeville. Much of their points have come from talented junior Quincie Johnson(jr). Johnson won the triple jump (37'4"), long jump (18'-10.5"), and 2nd in the 55 meter hurdles (8.34). Dusable also got a 4th place finish from Tyron Jordan(jr) in the 55 meter dash(7.24), a 6th place finish in the 4x200 (1:44.42), a 3rd place finish in the 400 (58.56) from Atone Joryman(jr), and a 1st place finish from Demonte Anglin in the high jump (5-8).
Dusable an ancient but small school with a developing track program. They showed me some good things. Johnson is only a junior and is showing signs of how great an athlete he is. At the CPS sophomore outdoor meet last year he made the finals in the long jump, placed 4th in the 110 high hurdles, and won the triple jump.
"The triple jump is my best event," said Johnson.
Some other results:
- Hubbard won the 4x8 with a time of 9:10. They held off Taft who finished at 9:11.45.
- Clark's Paris Hilliard (jr) wins the 55 meters in 6.68.
- Taft's Matt Tomaszeski(sr) won the 800 meters in 2:10.86.
