Jack McLaughlin is not playing this year, he suffered a career ending injury in practice on Thursday. Expect to see Tyler Pierce out there from now on.

Boone the on QB I see on this list
Posted by: Malone Dick | July 09, 2012 at 06:11 AM
Jacks fine.
Posted by: George | July 09, 2012 at 08:12 AM
Brent Taylor from Lindblom. A little undersized, but extremely talented.
Posted by: .......... | July 09, 2012 at 10:17 AM
Boone is at Hales. Bradshaw better hope that his big tackle can move if he wants to throw the ball. McLaughlin is only on the list because of Neil. It's a 1,000 yard rushing QB that is not on the list. What is his name you may ask, you figure it out.
Posted by: fyi | July 09, 2012 at 11:13 AM
McLauglin is a legit athlete, being one of the best baseball players in the city. He has the arm and athleticism to play QB. He is a good QB. Just kind of raw because it is his second sport. He's got some ability. Now if he can find some blockers and a running back, and receivers.
Posted by: cps | July 09, 2012 at 02:13 PM
Did you forget about the kid from King. This kid is an all around best. he ran for over 1,000 yards and has a cannon for an arm. Combing a total of 25 plus touchdowns.... You need to get around more
Posted by: FYS | July 09, 2012 at 02:54 PM
What kid from King. The King game I saw last year had a sophomore QB. Tall, somewhat athletic, no arm. Looks like ann 8th grade QB. He passed for 1,000 yards? 800 of that must have come from blow out games against weak ass teams, not against Julian and Fenger.
Posted by: ??? | July 09, 2012 at 03:28 PM
how is Quinell Johnson so low his record as starting QB in 17-3 he only los 1 confrence game ever and the other 2 he lost in state
Posted by: ??? | July 10, 2012 at 05:19 AM
There are only 3 good Quarterbacks on this list. Darien Boone, Elcee Burke III, and Ahmad Bradshaw.Rank these three in order and tell whose the best in the city.
1.Elcee Burke III(Simeon)
2.Darien Boone(CVS)
3.Ahmad Bradshaw(Brooks)
Posted by: CPSFAN1 | July 10, 2012 at 08:22 AM
@???
For the record King QB threw TDs in the both Julian game and Fenger. The Fenger game was a NO DEFENSE game.
Posted by: fyi | July 10, 2012 at 08:23 AM
@??? he's so low cause hehasn't played anyone
Posted by: WHO GONE STOP EM HUH | July 10, 2012 at 09:42 AM
This isa watch list not an exact order.
If I were to rank Quinell, I would put his about 8-10th best in the city.
Here is my top 5
Boone #1
Burke #2
Bradshaw #3
Eugenio Dejesus of Westinghouse #4
Jeremey Pearson of Urban Prep-Eng #5

Kyler Dawson of Dunbar do not play QB.
Posted by: wtf | July 10, 2012 at 11:15 PM
This list is obviously not in order of greatest to worst.
Posted by: Idiots | July 10, 2012 at 11:20 PM
Jack McLaughlin is like 6'4 now
Posted by: ... | July 10, 2012 at 11:42 PM
Neil's list is never in order unless there's a D1 prospect at that position, then those prospect will be at the top of the list. He's not the only one to do this. Both of Chicago newspaper do the same thing. If a CPS athlete is pegged as a D-1 prospect at the end on the summer he will make All CPS no matter what he does during the season. Seen it happen too many times thru the years. It's not about who's ballin out but who's getting the pub.

Who plays QB for Dunbar then lol
Posted by: ?!? | July 11, 2012 at 11:09 AM
Boone is a great quarterback. I've been following up on him for years now.what a great kid. Did you guys know he didn't swear ?
Posted by: Scout | July 11, 2012 at 11:51 AM
Just watched a 7 on 7 with Payton, Whitney Young, Bloom Township and St. Rita at St. Xavier.
Some good players, but the QB who stood out was Senior Casey Ford (6'2" 180#) from WY. Consistent throws, looked very good for early in the year.
Whitney as a team might have had the best day, certainly as good as any other, and that could be part of Ford's looking so good.
If they have solid line performance, they will be a team to watch. Plenty of talent in the backfields and at receiver.

Don't know his name but the Al Raby QB is legit. Good size, strong arm, accurate and seems to make good decisions. Seen him a couple times at Bolingbrook 7 on 7.

Hey Neil, can you please do a Curie preview with the new head coach there how they looking?
Posted by: Curie Preview? | July 17, 2012 at 01:47 PM
Casey Ford@ Young is a 3 year starter who has had great running backs behind him Terry Baggett now at Army and Barrett Morrissette last year It is Ford's year to shine.

How you dont put Chris covington of Al raby in this category. He is one of the top kids in the class of 2014 in the state do the research. he has dominated every major combine. look out for him them season.
Posted by: dangelo dereef | August 20, 2012 at 03:20 PM
This List is crazy. I dont put other kids down, but how is Chris Covington of Al Raby going to all the major summer events all across the mid west he always finished in the top 5 QB and he is not one of the top in the city. That is absolutely crazy!!! do your research!!! We will see when the end of the year comes!!
Posted by: dangelo dereef | August 20, 2012 at 03:32 PM
Chris covington is a junior!!!! He is 215!
Posted by: dangelo dereef | August 21, 2012 at 08:59 AM
@dereef I guess if you cry enough your qb can move up the ranks YOUR KID IS SOFT AS HELL
Posted by: shut up | August 21, 2012 at 04:21 PM
How on earth are QB's getting hurt? Why don't CPS coaches get out of the 60's-80's and learn how real football programs practice! Too bad for the kid from Lane, but he won't be the last because some of these coaches are morans.
Posted by: observer | August 21, 2012 at 04:34 PM
who's hurt
Posted by: wow | August 21, 2012 at 04:56 PM
Morons even.

Posted by: cpsfan | August 30, 2012 at 08:55 PM
What ignatius kid says about Ford is right on the money. He needs to learn to respect the game and
his teammates.
Posted by: John | September 25, 2012 at 04:21 PM
saw him against dunbar he is not that good
Posted by: truth is | September 25, 2012 at 05:33 PM
if Bogans QB is so good why did they get shut out 43-0 by Lane
Posted by: wat | September 25, 2012 at 06:58 PM
The best QB on this list is the kid Burke from Simeon, he is a terrific pocket passer and he had a field day against what you guys say is a "good" curie defense. He must have had over 250 passing yards and he had 5 tds and they were all throwing. He is the best in the city and atop the list in the state with Alviti and Bailey.
Posted by: SCOUT1 | September 25, 2012 at 08:01 PM
Casey Ford needs to learn respect. Saw him yelling at his coaches Sunday. He thinks he runs everything
Posted by: g | September 25, 2012 at 08:18 PM
he got a chill pill for the Curie game this week, one of the guys booted by Calvin D.
Posted by: lane is a funny kind of place | September 25, 2012 at 10:45 PM
d. Boone is the best qb With the kid from brooks following him. the third best is a kid from a weak program in Cvs aka baby juice
Posted by: the best qb in the city is even playing | September 28, 2012 at 09:38 AM
I saw the Q from Simeon underthrow his tall WR at least 6 times at Loyol. I think playing in the state championship game would qualify them as an ok program he has happy feet and can not roll out of trouble. If you want to win state you will play a CCL team along the way. I'm sure college scouts have a tape albeit from Loyola
Posted by: dont know i guess | September 28, 2012 at 05:11 PM
austin qb #10 is good...if he work harder in tha off season in tha WEIGHT ROOM HE MIGHT CAN MAKE IT...
Posted by: austin | September 28, 2012 at 07:31 PM
Washington was in the Inter-city conference last year. They are doing well in the Chicago Windy City so far as they have won 2 conference games in a row.
