Lane is seriously beefing up it's summer sports camps:

It's not just swimming and water polo.
There are now camps and formal summer conditioning for basketball, girls basketball, soccer, cross country, baseball, football and even wrestling.
Many of the camps are open to youngsters as young as 6th grade.
I see the cross country team is now recruiting runners from the Lane Academic center that started last year.

It's a project that still needs a ton of coaching work.

fuck lane tech. they should win in every sport becasue they have the biggest enrollment out of all city school. they will lose because they is not enough minority head coaches

How can the cross country team recruit runners from the academic center? They were just 7th grade and will be 8th graders in September.

Lane Tech is obviously not recruiting 7th and 8th grade Academic Center students to run for the Lane Tech high school team. Lane is recruiting them to participate in their cross country camp or for the Lane Academic Center elementary school team.

what do you mean "even wrestling" they've had a wrestlign camp for years and they've won city for years and produced some top notch wrestling

In Lane standards a Lane camp is standard and nothing new. CPS standards are another story, half the cps is nowhere near Lane.

No Lane team has been to the state finals since 2003 when the girls doubles tennis team won state. They are not above CPS. Other CPS school teams have won state for the last 7 consecutive years in basketball and 1 in soccer. Lane isn't anything special in sports. WY won the most city titles this year and last year.

If lane's teams were as good as their players, parents, coaches think they are and how good the coaches think they are, Lane would be the best in the nation in every sport.
Bottom line is Lane's sports program is on the downside and they never really competed in state consistently.
Hell, most of Lane's own PE staff don't coach at lane tech as they coach elsewhere or teach drivers ed instead. Who the fuck goes to school to teach drivers' ed? A lazy ass that couldn't compete in high school or beyond and has connections to work an easay job like a PE teacher as a career.
Who the fuck gets hired as PE teacher at any school if they can't or don't know how? What PE teacher is that good that he/she is hired because they're a great PE teacher? It's all politics and Lane's PE teachers are all connected to the gills. When's the last time Lollino left his folding chair back at school and taught his classes standing up at Clark Park?
