Catrell Coleson of Mather
This list will be updated as the outdoor season progresses. Please comment as to why your athlete should be on this list.
(No Order)
Catrell Coleson- Mather (hurdles, middle distance, sprints)- He quietly ran a 56.51 in the Group A varsity CPS indoor championship. That is the top indoor CPS time for a freshman. Mather has run him in hurdles for a lot of meets- where he has done well. Look out for his development in the 300 hurdles. By the end of the year, he may be able to contribute at the varsity level in the hurdles. Also ran cross country for Mather. He placed 12th at the CPS sophomore meet and was the third highest placing freshman in the CPS.
Kyle Maloney- Jones (middle distance, distance)- Seems destined for greatness after running a 4:27.53 in the 1600 indoors. That time is one of the fastest freshman 1600 meter times in the state of Illinois. I saw him run the final leg of the 4x8 for Jones. He is built like a rock and has amazing speed and strength for a freshman. If he played on a school with a football team, I would recruit him to be linebacker.
Joseph Toye- Whitney Young (jumps)- Full of athletic talent. Plays for the Whitney Young varsity basketball team as a freshman. Already one of the city's best in the long jump, triple jump, and high jump. The sky is the limit for this uber talent.
Christian Badillo- Lane Tech (distance)- Lane always produces a top notch distance runner for every class. It seems like Lane's top freshman distance runner is going to be Christian Badillo. Badillo ran a very good freshman indoor time of 11:06 in the 3200. Then busted out with a 10:24.98 in the 3200 at the Mather Outdoor Invite. That time is the 2nd fastest 3200 meter time for a CPS freshman since Jamison Dale of Jones ran a 9:55.54 in the state finals in 2010. Badillo has already ran a faster 3200 than when current Lane distance stars David Timlim(sr), Marcelo Burbano(jr), and Jon Vara(so) ran as freshman.

You can't compare ANYONE from Lane with a Jones College Prep athlete. They are above and beyond.

You can't compare Lane with anyone from Jones? Really?? You are obviously using illegal substances with your dumb comments.

Please don't talk trash on behalf of our athletes - that really isn't what our program is about. We don't think of ourselves as above or beyond anyone but merely focused on improvement and running fast times. We ask our athletes to let their times speak for themselves and respectfully ask that you do the same.

Christopher Parker is a great student athlete that gets faster every week. Watch out for him in the Sophmore Championships!
