FYI, Jeff was not fired from boys basketball. Principal Hunter thought, it would be great to utilize Jeff and his master rebuilding skills when it comes to athletic programs, and have Jeff rebuild the damaged football program. New Athletic Director Marty Walsh was offered the position, but decided against.
You can credit Jeff with the success we are having due to his position of Recruiting Coordinator!

Wasn't Jeffrey "Mr. Crazy 8" Bates responsible for hiring assistant football coaches Cipriati and Manning? You know, the two coaches allowing four senior football players to haze a freshman football in a blanket and whip him with belts and make Prosser a nation-wide embarassment, including Manning taping the hazing on his cell phone?
Wasn't Bates responsible for one of thew worst years in Prosser football history, including an overtime loss to Foreman. In a game Prosser could have won if Bates wasn't too busy talking to his pal about meeting up for beers on the weekend?
Wasn't it Bates that put the Prosser basketball program in the dumpster, including letting Coach Murray lead practices while he sat in his office, talked on the phone, and collected a paycheck as a security guard on the way to a 12-18 record in 2010-12?
Wasn't it Bates that snitched on both Coach Reed and Coach Rociola that led to each of them no longer at Prosser?
So, you're saying Bates was put in charge to screw things up?

The inherited program Jeff took over for was flawed by lack of fundamental talent and low character, something for which Jerry Reed is to blame. I see his 3-6 season as remarkable, considering the circumstances for which he inherited. Jeff was able to point the program in the right direction, as our future looks bright.
Our boy’s basketball team had much success during Jeff’s tenure as Head Coach. Including acting as ambassadors in our Sister-to – Sister Exchange Program with Birmingham, England. Win’s and Losses are not the true measure, it is the experiences and examples we teach our Students for which we shall be judged. It is how we conduct ourselves. A example for others to mimic. Jerry Reed, Vince Rociola, Juan Enriquez all demonstrated “Out Of Control” behavior that led to their demise. These individuals lacked character traits that we at Prosser stand for!

(The only remarkable job Jeff Bates has done is to continue to be employed by CPS at Prosser in an a psedo-adminstration position while not having any type of educational certification, never completed any higher education program, or even have a any type of college degree for that matter. Jeff Bates IS responsible for hiring all the coach in his football program and he made a HUGE mistake by hiring Manning and Cipriati as neither coach(?) had prior lower level football coaching experiences. Both coaches were responsible for teaching the needed fundamentals and techiniques to Prosser freshman football players with none of the players ever playing in football pads in their lives. Neither coach had any type of educational or coach certificate (Like Jeff Bates) and that's Jeff's fault for not checking into their backgrounds enough and leading to the Hazing incident. Also, Jeff's lack of proper supervisory education led him to hold one hour varsity practices that were mostly him yelling rah rah stuff then teaching the players anything. Then on the day of the hazing, Jeff Bates was nowhere to be found. Why? Because he dashed out right after his varsity practice and left two unqualified coaches in charge of players at a CPS building.)

Then, hearing of reed's resignation, Principal Hunter found Reed now offered NO value to him, even with Reed's teaching experience including having a masters degree in special education and a major in Math. I guess Hunter figured he could hire another young white female teacher than he could intimdate and trick them into thinking he's a great man, and then getting the female attention two of his ex-wives took with them in their divorces with him. Hunter's hatred for Reed led reed to transfer to Wells HS, where's considered a highly respected member of their their staff for his innovative teaching techniques in raising students' test scores.)

(Let's be honest here...the only reason Prosser was involved in the exchange program was for Principal Hunter to hobknob with his future employers in England when he gets fired from his job at Prosser, right after Mayor Emanuel's people are turned onto Hunter's nonsense and the crap that goes on at Prosser. Another reason for the exchange program was to allow Hunter, Bates, some kiss ass teachers, and a few handpicked students the opportunity for a free, untaxed vacation to rub shoulders with Former mayor Daley, the late Maggie daley, and Ald. O'Connor on the CPS dime......the Prosser students were and still are afterthoughts in the whole exchange program.....Also, if Principal Hunter wanted to forge a real relationship with the school in EnglanD, he would have brought Prosser's boys and girls soccer teams with him. The last time I checked soccer or futbol was England's national sport. I guess Hunter needed a reason to bring Jeff Bates.)

Lets state for the record, Jerry Reed was dismissed as Athletic Director / Head Football Coach. Mr. Hunter question many of Jerry's antics / methods. Jerry near the end did not have a grasp of managing a major athletic sport nor to manage the entire department.
Jerry was even suspended last year due to his defiant behavior towards Mr. Hunter. Jerry was not pleased with the decision to move in a new direction with Football and the Prosser Athletic Department. He began accusing Mr. Hunter of false accusations. This is what led to Jerry leaving for Wells. Jerry should be luck, Mr. Hunter did not have him E-3, which is the firing of a tenured teacher, whom was unable to perform and meet the goals at Prosser.
As for England. Our bond we have formed with England is priceless. Something for which gives the Students the greatest opportunity to learn and form friendships across the Atlantic. These opportunities are not provided at many schools. What we have provided in the Sister-to-Sister City Connection, is a opportunity to learn, establish relationships with Students, Educators and Administration from another country.
So please, know what your talking about before you discuss it in public form.

Coach Reed wasn't suspended as part of procedure for suspending a teacher is to issue a warning resolution to be put on the CPS record and docuMmented on the CPS website under 'CPS Board Actions", which was done to Prosser Drafting teacher Katie Strong and Prosser Wood Working teacher Richard Martin in the past, but wasn't done in the ALLEGED Coach Reed suspension.
After a warning resolution is issued to a teacher, the teacher then has the chance to correct the ALLEGED behavior and file a response. None of this was done. So, BULLSHIT!
As for the 'fake' bond Principal Hunter and Jeff Bates created with the Birmingham, England school, I highly suggest they take a second look at their committment involving Prosser and the Two Stooges (Hunter and Bates).
It's a shame people are hooked into Hunter's and Bates' world, but, the truth will come free in the very near future. THANK GOD FOR RAHM EMANUEL!

No reason to get excited, but yes Jerry was suspended in May, 3 days from work. Jerry cried to the union when attacks alleged by Mr. Hunter. What we found out was the mis-use of funds for our athletic teams. Not to mention, on-going sexual harrassment filled by a teacher. Jerry tried to open a can of worms and it was his demise.
He had the opportunity to go along with the ideals Mr. Hunter has for our great school, but it was too much for him to handle.
Jerry, Juan can enjoy the Rogers Park Scum with Vince.

Since you brought up winning at any costs as people use this defense when they're a loser in life and on/off the court. I want to bring up why I included building a program and getting kids into college. Both things Bates has done a poor job of doing for his players and can be a measurement besides winning.
What was Coach McEleheny's record before Hunter dumped him in favor of Bates for boys head basketball coach? Why was Coach Mc made to step down? Coach Mc was changing students lives for the better, getting to the next level, building a program, and winning.

This all sounds good when it comes out of Jeff's mouth when he spews it to Emma Mitts, but, the reality is Jeff makes $53,000 a year to recruit kids into a school where there's a decent line to get in to avoid going to the neighborhood schools, Bates doesn't have any college degree, and is more focussed on getting revenge and holding grudges on people than being a positive and enriching staff member. How many people stop in say hello and chant with Bates and ask for his opinion or guidance? (Frank, Hunter, Sielepkowski, Lynch, and other Hunter henchpeople don't count.) THE ANSWER IS NOBODY!!!

And, let's talk about character. How many divorces can you count between Hunter, Bates, and the rest of henchpeople? What's the body count there? How many babies were born to unwed henchpeople? What kind of example does this set to the students that come from single parent and broken homes? Students look for stability from the adults in their lives and they sure as hell aren't getting it from Hunter, Bates, and the henchpeople.
From what the word is on Bates is that he got into Prosser because his lips and nose were attached to a guy named Tim Czarnecki. Czarnecki is a Prosser hall of fame member for his questionable work with the Prosser LSC and he works for Ald. O'Connor because he has a background as a real estate attorney.

Bates tells people he changed his last name back to his mother's maiden name because of his dislike for his father. But, the real reason Bates changed his last name from Davis was to hide his past and to dodge collection agencies looking to recover monies from his student loans. Loans to attend colleges he never got a degree from, North Park and some small ass college named Augsburg College in Minnesota. places where he rode the bench and played on losing teams, only to quit each college.
Oh yeah, Bates also married a former Prosser student that went to Prosser when he was working there. And she figured him out, like Hunter's wives, and divorced his lame ass.

Well, the first step will appear to be to research the exact job description for the position Bates currently holds at Prosser. And then see if the position requires any minimum qualifications. One would think his pesuo-administration position (including being a school recruiter) would require at least a Bachelors degree in some concentration.
The next step would be to inform CPS that Bates isn't qualified to be working in the position.
And if CPS doesn't repond to the information in a timely matter, I would think people for Charter Schools, media, Rahm's people, watchdog groups, and others would be interested to see the taxpayer money being wasted on a unqualified bum like Bates.
Bates will find out others hold grudges too.

Mr. Bates will always have a home here at Prosser to you “Haters,” Jeff is a proud A/A sponsor, who helps many people and their addictions. At the past Holiday Party, Jeff was singing Karaoke as a individula who can enjoy himself without any vices others depend upon. Be proud of a individual who understood he had an addiction and understood what he needed to do in order to be successful in life. While others are unable to identify their weaknesses, Jeff has been able to and find true strength in a sober lifestyle. For shame upon you who wish to tarnish a man who has been able to fight his demons and draw strength upon his recovery.
While many of our former Coaches (Jerry, Vince and Juan) choose to continue with their out of out of control lifestyles, Jeff made a stand for his children and his family. These individuals attempted to constantly bring Jeff down, Alcohol, Infidelity, and Drug usage, Jeff attempted to help these individuals. Their lifestyles led to their demise here at Prosser Career Academy. Still, there are some who choose unfortunately to live these un-holy lifestyles, many of our female teachers, who choose to make unbecoming public displays of themselves.
As for Jeff’s education, Jeff is a highly respected member of the Prosser Career Academy Community. Along with Tim, Ald. Mitts, and Principal Hunter, these individuals have helped our community by reaching out to everyone.

The continuous witch hunt against Jeffery Scott Bates is preposterous in every aspect you might say. Mr. Jeffery Bates is not only GREAT individual whom has dedicated himself and his life to his great work here at Prosser and to our Students. He is a true professional Coach, something we have lacked here. He will turn around the football program. He has laid the foundation for our team to have success over the next several years. We are looking forward to a return to the State Playoffs and winning the conference.
Jeff, unlike Jerry, Vince and Juan, is a true professional as a coach. He has more talent than these individuals due to him being a student of the game. He has helped more Students than those above mentioned reach their true potential as athletes and have the opportunity to play at the next higher level of competition. Unlike those mentioned, Jeff demonstrates a true “EXAMPLE,” of how a winner is suppose to act and behave.
Jeff has had success as a coach in numerous sports throughout his long tenure here at PCA. By the time Jeff retires, he will be a legend within our athletic hall of hero’s.

A couple of misguided individuals whom were having difficulties managing control within their life, for whom their vices became a self destructive tendency that was going to hurt the entire community at large. Is being a snitch doing what is right? Is doing the right thing sometimes not popular? That’s what separates winners and losers when dealing with the lives of our Students, being popular is not something that is necessary, but rather being a leader for which Students can look up to on a daily basis. The former coaches might have been more popular, but for what reason I have no clue. The former Coaches were self centered individuals who only promoted themselves and cared about the other two. Jerry is learning now over at Wells that he made many mistakes over the years, and after numerous attempts Principal gave him to reconcile and seek out help, Jerry was unable to convene upon his vices. As for Vince and Juan, those two can have one another and deal with the scum over in Rogers Park.
And FYI, Jeff does have a degree, from North Park, and that is why he is certified to hold the current position.

Doubtful. It is an unrealistic opinion that the Staff at Prosser has any unhappy will towards Jeff. The individuals whom might feel ill will towards Jeff are as stated above, the “Out of Control” people whom are having a hard time conform to the policies our Great School Administration is trying to put in place. Jeff does not “BULLY” teachers and or Staff members. He promotes a healthy environment for them, for which Student learning is a center piece as well as service learning.

Jeff Bates talks about building bridges, but all he has does is burn bridges.
Let's not get even to service learning. Most students outside of Prosser have to work for the service learning hours, Prosser, mainly Bates and Hunter, gives them away like candy wih some sudents getting 10 service learning hours just to come 2 hours during spring break just to practice the ACT.
And if CPS ever dug into salaries at Prosser, they'd find not only high salaries to Bates ($55,000 a year) and Hunter ($156,000 a year), but enginers and janitors making over $85,000 a year and school clerks making over $50,000.

Maybe you would be better served attacking some of the lazy alcoholic teachers we have here instead. Why don’t you call for a drug test / alcohol test on some of our teachers and staff? Wouldn’t that be interesting? Last Friday, maybe we should pay a surprise visit to George’s Starlight, and see what the beverage of choice is for lunch. So before you wish to bring upon a witch hunt on Jeff, you better check yourself.
Jeff does a wonderful job here at Prosser, and demonstrates the true characteristics that make Prosser the best school on the west side.

Prosser isn't on the west side of Chicago, it is and always has been on the Northwest Side of Chicago. Emperor Hunter likes to say west side, so, people give him more credit for ANYTHING positive (which is far and few between) that comes out of Prosser.
If Major Hall on Grand Ave. was still open then we would have found Jeff in there last Friday. That was Bates liquid lunch drop-in and would meet up with old buddies from the Insane Unknownbody's, his social club.

Some individuals cannot accept the hand of help, and let their vices control them. Maybe we should have Jerry take an alcohol test over at Wells, have Juan take a drug test and have Vince take a STD test. These individuals are the true “Out of Control,” people that attempted to poison our Great Staff here at Prosser. They were a cancer. Their vices got the best of them while they were here at Prosser. It is interesting, once they left, their favorite watering hole, Major Hall closed.
As for our current Staff, those who wish to live their lives with non-stop negative vices will not work here longer. We aim to be a example for others to follow as adults. We can’t have our Teachers and Staff Members displaying these tendencies of immoral behavior.

See the thing about you, Hunter, and Jeff is all of you are now 'supposedly' reformed (wink, wink, we know you slip on many occasions...does skimming money count?..does everyone believe its only coffee in Hunter's cups all the time?), but, it wasn't too long ago that we'd find you guys and your crew with your faces on the bar from too much booze and other times with your noses on the bar.
If Coach Reed was doing something illgeal in the past, why didn't you do something then? Why?Because he wasn't.
Hunter, Bates, and the rest of you henchpeople got rid of Coach Reed, Coach Enrique, and Coach Rociola the same way you got rid of Jon Cerbin. You henchpeople set them up and used Hunter's political ties to shutdown any backlash.
Is Hunter too stupid to know that one of his staff is working with CPS in ratting him out to get even for him getting rid of the coaches and other teachers and staff members? Does Hunter believe CPS just figures things out aboutwhat he's doing?

Step 1 of the link (below) describes the requirements to be a substitute teacher with CPS:
Step I
Obtain an Illinois State Teaching Certificate - All substitute teachers are required to have a Substitute/Teaching Certificate. Certificates can be obtained from the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE). The ISBE requires an official set of college/university transcripts. Photocopies of transcripts will not be accepted.
Note: (1) This set of transcripts is in addition to the set required by Chicago Public Schools. (2) Teachers who are state certified do not need an additional Substitute Certificate.

BTW: Tonight on the 10PM News, CBS2's Dave Savini is running a report on CPS teachers, administrators, and other staffers raking in big money when they retire for their unused vacation and sick days. And guess what?
Frank Cassello's name was on his report and Savini will do a follow up on a later date using Cassello and the way he got a new job with CPS right after he retired and collected his cash money for unpaid vacation and sick days.

His name is Frank Cassello and he still works for CPS
Frank Cassello's job title is Teacher Assistant II and he's assigned to Prosser Academy Career High School.
One day about 6 years ago, Cassello walked into one room at CPS headquarters on 125 S. Clark St. and retired as a Drafting teacher assigned to Prosser, signed paperwork to start receiving his pension, cashed in his unused vacation and sick days, and then walked into another room and was hired as a Teacher Assistant II at Prosser.
Prosser Principal Kenneth Hunter okayed the hiring for Cassello at Prosser and Cassello is paid off Prosser's school budget and/or school discretionary fund. Cassello's double dipping is taking money away from the students, programs, and other more important needs at Prosser. And Cassello is also taking away a salary from someone else.
Also, Cassello is allowed to live in Burbank, IL, not Chicago.....Since Casello was rehired within 2 years of his retirement, Cassello was still grandfathered and didn't fall into the latest CPS residency requirement, requiring him to live in Chicago not Burbank. (like he does with wife and his daughter Jaclyn another Prosser teacher that gives her grandmother's address in Chicago as her residence).
Cassello currently draws:
$78K/year (CPS Pension) +
$38K/year as a Teacher Asst. +
full medical/dental benefits +
Cassello is now earning Social Security points because he's not in any union anymore and he's a full-time CPS employee already receiving a pension. Plus, he's accumulating more unused vacation and sick days and receiving health benefits.
I'm pretty sure CBS viewers will want to hear about Frank Cassello.

Here's the thing about Cassello. He does little or no work. On some websites listing his job title, Cassello is listed as Toolroom Operator. But, there's no toolroom at Prosser.
Cassello's day can be easily tracked down. He arrives at 7:30 AM, gets his coffee, and smoozes in the main office with the school clerks (3 of them made $50K last year), Principal Hunter ($156K), Asst. Principal Dr.(?) Raul Luna ($135K), and other other staffers.
Then, after the first bell rings, he starts supervising Prosser security staffers handing out tardy slips.
After that, he goes back and smoozes in the main office until 2nd period and then heads down to the bookroom, where he has a pseudo-ofice set up for himself and closes the door, turns on the radio, reads the newspaper, and then takes a nap.
After his nap, Cassello, goes to the lunchroom, grabs some coffee, and heads back to the main office to smoozes some more. This leads up to lunch time.
And, after an hour or more lunch, Cassello will float around from the shops area, the 'T' hallway near the student's lunchroom, and main office until the last bell.
Them Cassello heads to his social club, home, and calls it a day.
