#1 runner Saul Salinas(sr-left) and Hubbard performed surprisingly well at the city meet. The Greyhounds finished 10th. Last year their 5th man was running 19:21. This year it was 18:48. Hubbard is on the bubble to get out of the Lyons Regional. To do so they will need to beat either Reavis, Curie, or Argo.

Lane Tech will be in the St. Ignatius Invitational where their biggest challenger will be St. Ignatius. Although St. Ignatius is a Catholic School, it is very familiar with the CPS since the CPS and St. Ignatius always clashes with CPS schools in the CPS playoffs. St. Ignatius is a good barometer for CPS schools. Usually, if you can beat St. Ignatius, your sport is doing well. Lane will be running their top guys and is out for the win. I'm alos going to look out for the Whitney Young pack and see if they can improve from city. Steinmetz, Foreman, Schurz, and Taft will battle it out for the final qulifying spot.
St. Ignatius Regional
Berwyn-Cicero (Morton)
Chicago (Foreman)
Chicago (Lane)
Chicago (Lincoln Park)
Chicago (Schurz)
Chicago (St. Ignatius College Prep)

I noticed that St. Iggy was pre-season #18 in the polls. Wow, what happened after a nice trip to state last year??

@st iggy - What they did last year no team in the city has accomplished with the new rules, and that is qualify for state.
@spread love not hate - I like you message, but they were ranked #24 in state, not #18.
