Taft losses it's first Red-North game despite 26 points by leading scorer Jonathon Doss (sr-G, 6-2). Doss is an athlete...I've seen him slam!

Lincoln Park 50, Taft 42
LIncoln Park wins despite a 26 point performance by Jonathon Doss. Lincoln Park came from behind to win this game against Red-North unbeatens. Lincoln Park was up 37-30 in the third quarter before the Lincoln Park defense that included s stifling press- limited Taft to only 5 more points the entire way. The victory puts Lincoln Park in sole posesssion of first place in the Red-North with a 3-0 conference record- with games against undefeated in conference play Lane and Mather still coming up. Taft suffers it's first Red-North loss and is now 2-1 in conference.
Lane 52 Payton 21
We knew what to expect out of Payton today and although we got off to a slow start, we did what we needed to do. We took advantage of Payton's sloppy ball handling as guards John Cook and Dillan Torres each had two or more steals in the first half. Our defense in the first half was superb as we held Payton to 12 points (2 in the second quarter). We've been priding ourself on our defense this season and us as a team feel we can beat any team with our stifling defense leading to smart offense. Payton was led by Christopher Flores with 6 points. We were led by John Cook with 13 points and Dillan Torres with 9. Our enegetic bench led by Junior Guard Zach Calamus (3 steals) came in and closed the door shut on our 31 point win. Big game Friday against conference opponent, Senn.

This is the fifth game this season that Taft was leading by more than 5 points in the fourth quarter and losing the game. Don't know if it's inexperience or just blowing it.

Maine South 51, Taft 46 - boys basketball score.
Another close loss. This time against nearby Maine South. Maine South is a really good team making it to sectional finals last year.
