Aden Alemu (sr) of Mather was the top individual. She is seen here running next to New Trier 4th runner Allie Crimmins of New Trier.
Front pack of boys race. Tommy King of New Trier won the race in 15:13. Behind him is Niles North #1 runner Kosta Papazaglu.
Simon Kafka (fr) of Northside grimmaces in apparent pain. Kafka DNF.

neil, you've got to be kidding me. you make me sick. i wish there were a person like you when you were in high school, but the only thing is that you probably didn't matter enough to be covered. then again i wouldn't wish that on anybody-have a heart, dude.

Neil how does lanes dick taste?

i've always been under the impression that if i run well, i'll be on the blog and if i run poorly i won't be mentioned, if a kid has a bad day, there's no need to make a big deal out of it on the blog

The last picture everyone is referring to is of Kafka. Neil simply stated a fact:
"Simon Kafka (fr) of Northside grimmaces in apparent pain. Kafka DNF."
Again, just facts. KAFKA DNF. Neil did not say he sucked, had a bad race, or was the reason for Northside's lost. We all know Kafka did not finish.
I could see how someone won't like it. It is like the pictures of the New York Yankees showing despair after their loss to the Rangers the other day. The Rangers made the World Series and the Yankees did not. Some feel showing those pictures are pouring salt in the wound of the Yankees.
In this case, NCP fans would love to see no coverage and forget their season. Instead, Neil takes a picture and someone calls him a derogatory word. Who is the one using poor judgement?

What derogatory word?

the yankees are paid professionals, not a high school freshman. the only ones who should be critical of high school athletes are their own coach and teammates.
Posted by: not the same | October 24, 2010 at 12:24 PM
uhh i dont think neil was critizing, he just put up a picture said he looked like he was in pain & said he didnt finish.
Posted by: ' | October 24, 2010 at 12:27 PM
I think that's pretty bogus. The implied word behind that is pretty obvious.

suck it up Northside. Be gracious in your fall from grace... Buck, buck, buck... take that on the way down

"lane tech got pooped on yesterday. good work by beltran going out with the leaders..that paid off..."
I think not. Look at this line up from regionals:
4. LANE
7 13 16 22 23 (27) (31) = 81
DAVID TIMLIN, MARCELO BURBANO, LUCAS BELTRAN, DYLAN ALLINGHAM, KEVIN
PEREZ, SULTAN HAJI, GEORGE CHRONIS
expect to see Max Silva, Danny Zimney back in the line up on Saturday.
Two bonafied scorers who sat out.

Why be so negative. Kafka ran a 16:52 early in the season and 16:34 at city finals beating many of this blog's favorite runners. He clearly has talent, but not the best season. He's got three more years to prove himself.

i'm not complaining about what neil put and neither are most northsiders
Posted by: NCP | October 24, 2010 at 07:41 PM
i dont go to northside, but i know of kafka. hes the #1 freshman in the city, or was last time i checked. he ran a 16:34 at city. thats hell of alot better than most runners on the lane team. stop rubbing it in ns's face and move on neil. surely you must have something better to do.
Posted by: / | October 24, 2010 at 08:09 PM
no the thing is he doesnt have anything better to do
Posted by: hajiiiiiiiiiiiii | October 24, 2010 at 09:14 PM
To the person that posted two posts before me: Lane won city so you can't really say anything like that
Posted by: . | October 24, 2010 at 09:17 PM
he just did say it.
Posted by: moon | October 24, 2010 at 09:24 PM
Hey you don't say that!

lol simon kafka....
Posted by: :P | October 27, 2010 at 12:38 PM
I am actually Simon Kafka's best friend. lol. And coming from a NCP runner, this may sound biased but Simon has strong legs. Clearly, he is something new to this cross country competition. He won most of our meets and is already the best freshman runner in our school records. I am sorry for all of you anti-supporters but Simon Kafka will bring Northside College Prep to a new level. For the last picture, he quit because he did not feel well. Obviously, you would not push yourself and puke after wards. It's amazing how Simon runs so fast even when he is a freshman. See you in track losers.

Jay Yu,
Dude, you are a loser and so is Simon for not pushing it. But the Northside "Wusstangs" didn't have a chance to qualify for sectionals anyway

The above post was not made by Jay Yu or a Northside runner.
