Carter's a beast!
Posted by: Beast | August 30, 2010 at 01:54 PM
The best runner in the city is Robert Gregory, QB of Simeon.
Check out his stats against Mt. Carmel:
# Robert Gregory, Simeon: 227 yards rushing, three rushing touchdowns, 20-for-27 passing for 297 yards and three touchdowns in a 47-41 win over then No. 11 Mount Carmel.
Simeon RB Horatio Banks had 151 yards on 18 carries. That is 8.4 yards per carry.
Posted by: Simeon has 2 RB's better than Carter | August 30, 2010 at 09:24 PM
Hey dummy. Game stats are arbitrary. That means they can be padded. What's important are the physicals. Brian Carter is Faster and twice as strong as both those guys, and he has no o-line. You switch them to eachothers team, Simeon is better no matter who's QB. Kelvyn Park struggles to be a 50/50 team.
Posted by: Edgar Casey | August 31, 2010 at 05:51 AM
Not only that, Simeon would win the state track title also.
Posted by: Nostra Damus | August 31, 2010 at 05:52 AM
Whoa, Not so fast my friend. Simeon is Simeon for a reason. No other quarterback can lead the Blue Machine quite like Gregory. Give credit where credit is due. Gregory and Banks preformed on the biggest stage in this area. They beat Americas team. Carter played against Prosser (Who). They haven't been good since Fabien Martin was there 5 or 6 years ago. Matter of fact they have won anything since Coach Reed left
Posted by: Truth | August 31, 2010 at 02:05 PM
Reed has been and is still....he sucks as a coach...Reed will not stay at practices when he's not getting paid..in fact, the last few years with Coach Rock, he left when he wasn't being paid or the hours were overtime and Coach Rock coached the rest of practices
Posted by: Prosser's Reed is NG | August 31, 2010 at 02:15 PM
The real truth is not about the teams and who they play, but the ability of the player. Brian Carter is stronger and faster than any CPS back, or any back in the state for that matter. KP has no offensive line, so he does it all himself. He can honestly make any team he's on better, including Simeon. The same can't be said for Banks playing for KP.
Posted by: The absolute truth | August 31, 2010 at 08:46 PM
You have never seen Horatio Banks of Simeon run the ball. Carter is faster and a bit bigger. Banks is quicker, has better moves. Both are not as durable as you want them to be. Carter has better hands.
If Banks played for any team, he would make any team better.
Both are a toss up for CPS RB of the year.
Posted by: Banks and Carter | September 01, 2010 at 05:59 AM
Yeah but Carter is the fastest and strongest back in the state. 300lb bench press, a 500lb squat and 4.4 speed. Who can match those stats? He's only a JR. Wait till next yr.
Posted by: KP J.S. | September 01, 2010 at 08:27 AM
The difference is that Banks has been to combines where his stats are officially measured.
4.35 40 and 39 inch vertical leap at the EdgyTim combine:
http://neilski.typepad.com/wwwlanetechfancom_blog/2010/04/running-back-horatio-banks-of-simeon-picks-up-first-football-offer.html
Carter can probably put up comparable numbers but he needs to goto combines or camps to prove it.

If Carter was smart, he'd transfer to another school with a beter football program his senior year. Kelvyn Park is best known for gangbangers, teenage preganancy, and or the outside camwera shots for a black TV comedy based in an urban high school.
Carter will get few if any college looks if he stays at KP.
I suggest he transfer to another school like Lane, Hubbard, Simeon, Curie, Robeson, or Morgan Park,
And, if can afford to go to a private school, I suggest Loyola Academy, St. Patrick, St. Rita, Mount Carmel, or a suburban school if he can move out there
Posted by: Carter needs to transfer to better school | September 01, 2010 at 08:52 AM
Uh dummies he did finish second in the State, in the 100 and 200 as a Soph. He will probably win them both the next two yrs. Also if you knew anything, it doesn't matter what school you go to if you're getting press coverage for your performance. You loosers might need better Schools to get noticed, but when you're the beast, they come looking for you. LOL
Posted by: The Agent | September 01, 2010 at 09:31 AM
Unfortunately dummy, Carter will not get much pub because KP doesn't play any decent teams and doesn't even make the CPS playoffs, the real playoffs (as much as those are real) not the intra-city one
My guess is he'll more colleges looking at him for track than football..
Then, there's the questions about his low grades
So, I suggest he live in the now

(@ Carter needs to transfer to better school.)
Gawd you're ignorance is amazing. He's above a 3.0 GPA and has never been in any trouble whatsoever. He's already gotten letters from ND, Mich State, Tenn, and U of Fla. He was invited to camp at U of Tenn this summer. You see, when you're that good they come for you. You will look stupid when he's signs with a major football powerhouse for college.
Posted by: KP classmate | September 01, 2010 at 01:36 PM
just to show you how stupid you are.....it's against NCAA violations to contact a player prior to the end of his junior year...so don't bullshit a bullshitter and say he's been contacted when he's not that good to risk NCAA sanctions....okay, so he has an 'A' in PE and lunch, what other grades does he have?
anybody can be invited anywhere if you can come up with the money to attend is another thing
you sure you aren't one of those stupid prosser people in disguise?
Posted by: Carter got an 'A' in PE and lunch | September 01, 2010 at 02:26 PM
(@ Carter got an 'A' in PE and lunch)
You're not to bright are you. You obviously don't read either. I said he's recieved letters. Letters introducing the school. Which is perfectly normal after your sophmore year. No one said anything about contact. Personal contact comes after your JR season. Also I know he's never gotten below a B in any class. But none of this back and forth matters. In the end he'll be playing on Saturdays, and you'll still be dreaming. Sucks to be you.
Posted by: KP classmate | September 01, 2010 at 02:44 PM
yeah, sucks to me when Carter finally gets hit and he breaks down and asks for his mommy or auntie or grandma....name any athletes that have made it big out of KP....none! KP also stands for kicthen patrol, which he'll be doing in jail when he robs or kills someone with his Vice Lord buddies...did you see the nice VL Tat on his chest in the pics?
Posted by: Carter has a nice tat | September 01, 2010 at 03:07 PM
yeaaa what is that tattoo??

Let me drop some "Truth" on this situation. Truth is that some of you guys keep mentioning the fact that he finished 2nd in the 100 and 200.... Fact of the matter is, the kid he lost to is coming back as well. He may have gotten some interest letters those letter go out to everyone. Truth of the matter remains is that Carter will not get noticed at KP unless he puts up amazing numbers (off the chart or padded stats). The only way they will follow him is putting up numbers in camps as was mentioned before. This is not track season so no one cares about track stats at this point. Because he is the second fastest back in track in the city.
Mr. Darius Smith is still around and runs against the big boys in 3A. Carter is the best of the little guys. And ladies and Gents Smith is a freaking dog. Carter should dominate playing little sister of the poor football teams.
Posted by: Truth | September 01, 2010 at 09:31 PM
I played for KP years ago and nobody is expecting to get any recognition there. The fact is his older brother was a ranked receiver from the same school and now Carter is a dozen years later. Why can't anyone let the season play out and see where the dust settles? He's a kid, give him a chance to prove himself. I've watched him since freshman year and he has potential. Letters go out to potential, not anyone. I got a letter from a small local college, not ND or Tennessee. You little punks think a tattoo means gang affiliation?! How many of you pricks have those lame barbwire tats. Get back.

See, if you people new anything, you would remember, those same arguments were given about Walter Payton (Jackson State), Jerry Rice (Mississippi Valley State), and Steve McNair (Alcorn State). They all were told they'ed never make it in the NFL, because they didn't play at big time schools, but talent is talent. Hands down there is no RB in the tri-state area, with the combination of his extraordinary speed, dominate power, and grace. Oh and he can catch the ball as a receiver too. Dyett and Prosser are not pushover, but he rushed for 300yd on them with less than 25 carries. Bottom line is, he's the most physically gifted back playing in the State of Illinois. You can have all the rest, give me him, and I gaurantee you won't stop him.
Posted by: The Real Truth | September 14, 2010 at 09:27 PM
You are comparing Walter Payton, Jerry Rice, and Steve McNair to Brian Carter. Wow, just wow.
Exceptions don't make rules. You named 3 men in a span of 30+ years, why did you not mention the thousands upon thousands of people who failed.
Having a barb wire tattoo has no affiliation whatsoever with being in a gang, having a gang tattoo has affiliation with being in a gang.
Posted by: Idiots | September 14, 2010 at 09:54 PM
(@ Idiots) You got the right name. If you had any type of comprehensive skills, you would know that the author wasn't comparing Brian Carter to those legends. He was comparing the stuidity of critics like you, to those back then. Neither one of you know what talent is.

Posted by: . | September 14, 2010 at 11:56 PM
When you can say you talked to the kid everyday practically since childhood, you would know he has no gang affiliation. Tattoos don't tell a story. Honestly you sound like a bitter athlete that didn't make and you prefer to pick on a HS JR who busts his butt to get the talent.
Posted by: neumann | September 15, 2010 at 08:38 AM
i can personally vouch for brd ian carter not being in a gang. every kp i am on the side lines helping the coaches and motivating the team. i also speak to brian carter every game and through facebook and i can tell you the kid is very well mannered, keeps out of trouble and knows what he has to do to make it big. many times have i told him to keep his head in the right direction, to keep doing good in school, football and stay out of trouble, hes a very smart kid and listens very well and knows what he needs to do to succeed. anybody who tries to bash him in anyway can say what they want, unless you know him personally then nobody wants to hear it. the end
Posted by: rique | September 15, 2010 at 02:17 PM
u kno wats funny i kno this kid for along time he never got into any trouble or any crime his mom and dad has taught him right dat tattoo u guys are talkin about is no where close to being in a gang its a Decpticon tattoo from "Tranformers" nun wrong wit that also he has a chinese tattoo that stand for family and love this kid will never do no wrong he's smart and knows what he's doing so dont say nothing about the kid wen u dont kno him
Posted by: FRIEND OF BC | September 15, 2010 at 08:12 PM
No comments?! Another win, 3tds and so many yards... Its not an accident. The kid has talent. Let the boys play ball and see what happens. If he doesn't go pro for football, proper training will get him into track and field.
