Demarius Reed (sr, 5-10, 165lbs, WR/DB) I'm ranking him the #1 wide receiver. He is an all everything athlete for Simeon.
1. Demarius Reed (5-10, 165lbs, WR/DB, sr), Simeon - plays wide receiver, defensive back, and kick returns for the #1 Wolverines. Get him the ball and he will make plays. He has 4 college football offers.
2. Duwane Pipkins (5-9, 155lbs, S/WR, sr), Robeson - another all athlete for Robeson. Can play multiple and enough speed and hands to rank him this high. Also, an all-state relay track runner.
3. Darius Scott (5-9, 150lbs, CB/WR, sr), Simeon - more of corner back but like Reed has speed and hands to play receiver. Smallish but dangerous and can get open.
5. Manny Pratt (6-2, 215lbs, TE/LB, sr), Manley - good height and size; captain on a Manley team that struggled last year. Pratt is someone that would have much more exposure if he went to a school like Hubbard or Curie.
6. Cortney Lewis (6-1, 175lbs, WR/SS), Hubbard - may play running back for Hubbard. Had monster game last year versus Evanston with an 80 yard receptions, caused a fumble, and recovered a fumble. His YouTube Recruiting Video has over 2,000 views.
Others (not a complete list, others will be added in time)
Leroy Bridges(6-1, 170lbs, jr), Calumet
Elijah Rios (5-10, 200lbs, sr), Foreman
Fred Willis (5-11, 145lbs, sr), Al Raby
Davonty Kwaning (5-11, 165lbs, sr), Lindblom
Nathan Anderson (6-2, 185lbs, sr), Whitney Young
Devonte Elzy (6-4, 170lbs, sr), Simeon
Desroy Maxwell (6-2, 220lbs, sr), Amundsen
Vance St. George (6-1, 180lbs, sr), Bogan
Deandre Bingham, Bogan (5-10, 190, sr WR/QB)
Omar McCormick (6-3, jr), Bogan
Trenton Patterson (5-10, 169lbs,sr) Brooks
Mark Gaines (5-9.5, 149lbs, sr) Brooks

This looks like a low year for wide receivers. 4 of the top 6 are not pure receivers. DB's, RB's, KR's, not pure receivers.
Willie Allen has transferred to Hales.
Most city teams are run orientated and do not focus on receivers.
Devonte Elzy of Simeon may stand out before the end of the season. Simeon will need Elzy and Reed to step up if they are to beat Mt. Carmel.

How can you forget about Vance St. George of Bogan. He's a 6'1 180lb sr. runs a 4.5 and is very elusive also plays safety. Last year he was the number 2 receiver behind star receiver Emmanuel Bibbs now at (Iowa). Here are some big break out games against Julian where he recorded stats for 3 catches, 159 yds, 1TD, 2 tackles, 70-yard INT return TD and he had three catches, 187 yards, two touchdowns against kennedy. He also had Bogan's only score in the first round of the 7a state playoffs against power house Marian Catholic where he returned a kick for an 85yd Td. He also has two more good receivers to play with, look out for this kid.

Remember the name Brandon Barker #8 from Curie. He was a 2nd teamer behind Altman and Miller last year (started at corner). Had an amazing summer, crazy good ball skills and soft hands.

Devonte Elzy of Simeon has size 6-3 and speed. Does not get thrown to enough to make big numbers. WIll have to get more exposure through combines and have a big senior season.
Desroy Maxwell of Amundsen may play at next level. I know some of their guys goto JUCO or D3.

There is a serious problem with this list. It's missing ESPN top 50 widereicever Trinton Patterson from Gwendolyn Brooks college prep. He's one of the highest recreated senior WRs in the city of Chicago and even Illinois. I can't believe that he's not on this list. He's the only WR in the city who is in ESPN top 50. I think you might want to rethink putting him in the list. He's one of the best and should be treated like one.

D Scott is small but he is the best overall player on the Simeon team. Maybe one of the top play makers in the State.

When it comes to the next level you gotta stand out in some way. That means you gotta have some size or speed, some good weight, super strength, amazing on field production, or amazing football combine results.
Patterson came into Brooks as WR everyone was looking for. He is still a good player. But look at some of his stats:
ht 5-10
40 5.18
production at Brooks - good not spectacular
combines - at the Nike Combine he was in the bottom 1/3 for receivers. Even teammates Demarius Flakes and Mark Gaines was rated higher than him. This means on the Brooks team last year, he was only the third highest rated Wide Receiver.
So it is hard to place Patterson in the top 7 at city.
It does not mean it won't change. People have bad combines, people can have big seasons. I hope Patterson and Brooks have a big year.
I did add him and teammate Mark Gaines (4.94 speed) to the others list.

Add Aaron Banks of Simeon as a wide receiver prospect. 6-3 185, only a soph. Played well against Mt. Carmel.
