Brian Carter Raises the Bar For Kelvyn Park

The postings and comments on this website ebb back and forth between different teams and players. Last year it seemed that Harlan was the rage, last spring it was Calumet with super freshman Lonnie Washington, then this summer it seems like it was a lot of Prosser talk. Now, as the football season starts today, Brian Carter of Kelvyn Park is getting his props.
Last year no one even talked about Kelvyn Park. But because of Carter's super track season last spring as a sophomore, he is the BMOTS (Big Man of This Site). Carter took 2nd in the state in the 100 and 200 meter dash. Now, everyone (myself especially) wants to see what he can do on the football field.
Carter played multiple positions last year for Kelvyn Park team that was stuck in obscurity playing about .500 ball in the Inter-City 1 Conference football conference. Carter was the all-everything guy for Kelvyn Park. He played running back, wide receiver, linebacker, and returned punts and kicks. He displayed some serious explosiveness. As a running back he averaged over 7.4 yards per carry and had a season long run of 80 yards against Roosevelt. As a receiver he had a season long reception of 88 yards vs Prosser. He also had an 89 yard kickoff return vs ACT Charter.
As good as Carter is, he and his teammates will have challenges. For one, Carter will have to control his fumbles. He had an inexcusable 9 fumbles last year including 4 in one game versus Wells.
Kelvyn Park will also have to replace 3 all-conference who have graduated.
The good news is that a couple all-conference players return: linebacker Brian Motijo and lineman Cristian Rosa (sr, 5-8, 210lbs). Kelvyn Park should also get some quality play from Victor Medina (6-0, 185lbs).
Kelvyn Park faces Prosser tomorrow at Winnemac Park for their first games of the season.

Carter's track-sprint coach is also the assistant coach, calling the offense for KP. You could see alot of 100 yard sprints out of him.

Hopefully Cater and KP can win some games and get out of the basement of the football conferences. Cant really evaluate his talent against ACT Charter Prep, Wells and Roosevelt.
