At a smaller enrollment school like Al Raby (enrollment 917 with a multiplier - actual enrollment about 500), the top athletes play multiple sports. Raby is new to an Illini-conference this year. Let's see what the Raiders can do as an encore after the best season in school history - including a close 19-6 playoff lost to football powerhouse Morris.

Last Year
Raby came up with I feel the biggest result in the CPS last year. A 19-6 loss to Morris. I had Raby as a 30 point underdog in that game. To go out of that game with ONLY a 13 point loss says something about the Raby program. They played a traditionally strong Morris football team to a close game. Only several ill advised Raby turnovers prevented the game from being even closer.
Wins against Marshall, Urban Prep, and Phillips also were impressive. Remember, Raby is a school with an enrollment in the 500's. They really should be a 3A school. But because Raby has selective enrollment, they have a multiplier in effect and so they get bumped up to a bigger class.

Fall 2010 Outlook
After their two opening games against Plainfield South and Vernon Hills, Raby has a manageable schedule. Raby will have no chance whastover against Plainfield South and Vernon Hills. If they win games against Marshall, Hope, and Dyett. Raby will play Brooks. The game against Brooks will tell us how far the Raby program has advanced.
Raby graduated many good players from last, but they do return a good one. Daniel Cleveland, a 6-1 235lb quarterback will lead the Raider attack. I have him listed as the #6 quarterback in the CPS

Let's see a preview of bogan. I would have like to seen Raby play Bogan last year. I think thy would have been a even match up. Raby finished 8th and Bogan finished 9th in top cps schools. Both teams are movving up to the illini and have lost good players but I think thy both should be competitive. Bogan preview next?

Bogan has the edge over Raby. Bogan has a much bigger team, a much better coach in Sam Jones a former Morgan Park coach, and pure numbers will beat out Raby. Bogan has 60 guys on their team - which is big for a CPS school. Raby has about 36 if their lucky.
I can't see Raby staying long in an Illini conference. They have to prove they belong this year.
Games vs Brook and Orr will tell me if Raby belongs.

I wouldn't say 60 guys but I would give them maybe 50 but then most of them will be sophomores that just suit up for the game. Raby had an impressive loss to power house morris last year, bogan did not do to well in their loss to marian catholic. I'm anxious to see if both teams can show they belong in the illini. Both teams have lost good players to graduation, but still have good talent returning. Raby has the #6 qb in the city Daniel Cleveland 6'1 215 and Bogan has a big D1 body at linebacker Cortez Reese 6'2 210. Look for both of these players to play a big part in their teams' success this year.

Who will be the main running back at Bogan? I hear that Daniel Cleveland guy has some potential. He could have a Adewole type year- Bogan's QB last year now at Olivet Nazarrene.
Bogan has some good raw talent, that coach Sam Jones has been able to work with the last few years. Bogan was a city powerhouse in the 1990's. Actually winning a couple city titles. I think with Sam Jones running the show, he could really bring Bogan back up to at least respectable status or better status in the CPS.

Bogan got a transfer junior running back from St. Rita who I hear is pretty good, I heard he is physical and is very shifty. He left St. Rita due to they already had two senior running backs who are both good. Cleveland could have a good season maybe not an "Adewole" year, it will depend on his line and receivers. Adewole had two star receivers Emmanuel Bibbs now at Iowa and Vance st George who will be returning for his senior year.

Bogan has Big time Big time ability on both sides of the ball don't sleep on this rising power. They will be very competitive in the Morgan park, Hubbard, CVS, Amundsen, Mather, Conference. I see a loss to Morgan Park or Hubbard but not BOTH! im a C.P.S follower and i've seen most teams,Bogan is for real.
