Returning Players to Look Out For

Maurice Fleming (jr; 6-1; 180lbs - QB)
Dominic Kozlowski(sr; 6-0; 175lbs - K)
Vauughn King (sr; 5-11; 230lb- HB/LB)

Defense
The player everyone will be looking out for isdefensive end James Adeyanju (sr). Adeyanju has inherited the same athletic ability as his brother Victor who plays in the NFL. This 6-3 225lb monster of a defensive end led Curie with 16.5 sacks. He is one of the most recruited players in the state with list of offers include Michigan, Arizona, Illinois, Colorado, Northwestern, and Nebraska.
Supporting Adeyanju will be linebacker Vaughn King and defensive back Greg Fenn. Fenn is a very active player who led Curie is tackles last year. King has the size at 5-11, 230lbs to be able to rush the QB and good defensive ability- finishing 3rd in tackles for Curie last year.
Offense
The Curie offense will be based on further development from quarterback Maurice Fleming(6-1; 180lbs). Fleming showed great promise last year as a sophomore. He threw for 1334 yards (121.3 yards/game) and 15 touchdowns. But he also threw 13 interception and his top receivers from last year Sam Altman and Devante Miller have graduated. Curie will probably have to rely on players from it's frosh-soph program to restock at the receiver position.
The running game consists of mainly runs from the athletic Fleming and he will also hand off to different Condors including Fenn and King.
Kicking Game
Curie is unique for most Public League schools in that they focus some time in getting good at the kicking game. Curie returns kicker and punter Dominic Kozlowski.
Outlook
On paper, Curie looks good. They have an impact player in Adeyanju. An athletic and developing quarterback, and some good returning defensive players. I'll need to see some improvement in the running game, receiving corps, and the prevention of turnovers from Fleming.
I like the Curie program, they produce solid teams every year because they have a good frosh-soph program. This looks like the makings of another solid Curie team which is one of the top CPS teams behind Simeon and right there with Morgan Park, Hubbard, and Robeson.
