Daron Brown (sr) quarterback from Morgan Park
Senior Daron Brown from Morgan Park made an oral committment to play football for Northern Illinois University of the MAC conference. Brown, a versatile athlete for the Mustangs football team mainly played quarterback, but at times he played wide receiver and ran the ball with great consistency.
Brown is also an all state hurdler for Morgan Park and returns this season as a state championship contender in the 110 high hurdles.
I got a chance to see Brown play football several times and run track.
After watching Brown play on the football field, I immediately noticed that he was one of the best athletes on the field. He played the quarterback postion for Morgan Park, but Morgan Park counted on him running the ball - which he did very well probably better than throwing the ball.
I've watched some Morgan Park football over the years. As for a pure football talent, he is near the level of Demetrius Jones. Jones, played quarterback for Morgan Park several years ago, and eventuall landed a scholarship to Notre Dame before transferring to Cincinnati.
I look forward to seeing Brown run his last season of track and then I'll keep an eye out him in college. I'm not sure what position he will play in college, but I hear that Northern may looking at him as a wide receiver.

Mt. Prospect senior quarterback Miles Osei de-committed from Northern Illinois and signed with the University of Illinois. This will just give Daron Brown more of an opportunity for play time and and to make an impact at NIU. Go Brown.
