Senior Monica Pinkus of Northside Prep will be swimming at the girls state swimming finals today and maybe tomorrow at New Trier.
Pinkus is trying to become Northside Prep's first state medalist in swimming and the Public League's only second state medalist. The only other CPS state medalist was Kimberly Laughlin of Lane Tech who medaled 3 times in 1992 and 1993.
Pinkus enters the state finals with the 9th best qualifying time in the 50 yard free style and the 4th best in the 100 yard breast stroke.

Monica Pinkus qualified for the consolation finals by finishing 10th in 100 breast on the first day of the girls state meet.
She will become Northside's first state medalist in girls swimming.
