#13 Morris (5-4) at #4 Chicago (Raby) (8-1)
When kids grow up in Morris, all they want to be is football players. Football in Morris is like barbecue in the south - everyone loves it. There's a reason why Morris has won state 3 times and state runner up 6 times. Do not be deceived by the uncharacteristic 5-4 record by Morris. Morris has played the likes of state football powers Geneseo and St. Rita. Meanwhile, Raby has played all low competition city schools in their schedule - with the exception of a 5-4 Bradley Bourbanaise team -in which they lost 38-0. On the plus side, Raby did beat Marshall from the Illini conference earlier this year.
Neilski's prediction - Running clock by second quarter. Morris 42 - Raby 0.
#14 Herscher (5-4) at #3 Chicago (Dyett) (8-1)
Dyett won the Chicago Great Lakes conference on the last game of the season 14-8 over previously undefeated Senn and will move up to the Illini-conference next year. But they are still in the Chicago conference. Dyett was 8-1 last year and did not make it to the playoffs because they were in the Chicago conference. "The guys, still around are hungry" , said Dyett coach John Terry. Their competitor will be downstate Herssher. Hercher is making a rare trip to Chicago, but still it would be a stretch to even imagine a Dyett victory.
Neilski's prediction - Hersher 32 Dyett 8
Please post the date/time/location of the Morris-Raby game. Morris was a great atmosphere to play in this year. I'd like to be there to cheer them on in this Playoff game.

The date/time/location for the Morris-Raby game will be announced this Monday at 3:00pm. It is at Raby. Raby does not have their own stadium, so it will will probably be played at Rockne Stadium in the southwest side of Chicago. Parking there is not the best. They have a small parking lot on the block of the stadium. Alot of that is taken up with school busses, refs, CPS officials. The parking lot can also get cramped. The last time I was there I almost dented the car next to me opening my door because the cars were all parked so close. If you don't go early enough, you'll have to park in the street. The surronding neighborhood is not too bad as long as you stay in the main streets. On the way to the game you'll see signs that you are not too far from the hardcore west side of Chicago. You'll see some liquor stores, currency exchanges, Sharks Fish and Chicken shacks, and a few homeboys playing dice on the street corners. Let me put it this way, you will not see a Starbucks around that hood.
Look for a 42-0 Morris lead by halftime. The Dyett/Hercher game should be a bit more competitive. Dyett has a good defense that if they can hold the Hershcer offense, the Dyett running game with their running back Walls could pick up some yardage. I;m not going to say there will be a dyett upset, but it will be more competitive then the Raby Morris game. Bless those souls.

I admire the kids that goto Al Raby and wish them luck versus Morris. It is not the fault of the Al Raby kids that they go into this game with no chance of winning. Al Raby is a school on the west side of Chicago. As with all west side schools with the exception of Orr, Al Raby does not have a football stadium on it's campus.
Al Raby was opened in 2004 and it cost the city a lot of money to make the school. I'm fine with opening up a new school, but it was built with no intention of helping the stiudents out athletically. Instead the school was opened to satisfy the liberal infatuations of politicians. I say that because the focus of the school is not on academics or athletics like it is at Morris and 98% of all other non-city high schools. Instead the focus of Raby is on community organizing, civics, green initiatives, and political activism. While I understand some people subscribe to those areas, but the purpose of public schools is not to teach those things, but to teach kids more useful things lifelong learning, getting into college, and developing teamwork in sports. Come on how many jobs are out there in social justice?

I also think the Herscher/Dyett game could be somewhat close, looks like Dyett passes a lot and thats been a struggle for Herscher defensively this year.
I think Vernon Hills wins that one easily. And I have a feeling Hubbard and MP will win in comfortable fashion. Hubbard is too athletic for R-B.

Unless its real muddy, Herscher will throw the ball over the yard against Dyett, they have not seen a QB like this all year.
