Fredrick Williams of Lane Tech runs for a 20 yard touchdown run in the 2nd quarter.
After starting Jake Pieuruccini at quarterback the entire year, Lane fans were very surprised to see a new starting quarterback for the game in junior Tyler Routhier. I was interested to see what Tyler could do with his arm. As it turned out, we did not see much of his arm at all as Routhier passed two passes the entire game. One pass went incomplete and the other went 8 yards for a touchdown pass.
Lane jumped out to a 28-0 lead midway through the first quarter behind a punishing running game of running backs Thaddeus Scott, Alex Brown, and Fredrick Williams and a 25 yard fumble recovery for a touchdown. But Dunbar scored 2 touchdowns in a one minute in the second quarter to pull to within 28-12. Dunbar scored on a 85 yard kickoff return for a touchdown and a 20 yard touchdown run by Marcus Hurt. But Lane held onto win to game.
Lane plays Simeon next Friday at Lane for the conference title.
Dunbar quarterback Darvell Harris (#8) about to take the snap.
