Lane Tech dual threat starting quarterback Jake Pierruccini (sr)
Lane does not play Thursday night games at Gately Stadium too often. But, on this beautiful early fall night, Lane's trip to the south side was worth their time as they pounded Hyde Park 49-0. Lane used their running game to take care of Hyde Park. Starting running back Thaddeus Scott (sr) scored 4 touchdowns while amassing 97 yards on only 11 carries to lead Lane. Meanwhile, back up running back Alex Brown (sr), also got his share of carries, as Brown scored two touchdowns of his one while gaining 94 yards on 2 carries.
Lane bounced back after a demoralizing 28-21 opening conference play loss to Dunbar last week. Lane is now 1-1 in conference and 2-3 overall. Lane plays rival Whitney Young next Friday at Lane for homecoming. The Dolfins shocked Lane 2 years ago in Lane's Homecoming game. It will be rematch of a classic game, won in overtime by Whitney Young. That was the last time Whitney Young won conference.
Expect Lane to beat WY. Play Dunbar tough, but, lose due to a lack of team speed and poor offensive coaching calls. Then, get handed their 'Neilskis' by Simeon.
Lane will finish the season (3-5,2-3 in conference) and out of the playoffs for the first time ever

Lane plays Whitney Young next week at Lane for Homecoming. Lane will wipe out Whitney by at least 42-7. The game to watch is the week after that. Lane vs. Dunbar. Look for an improved Dunbar team to play Lane close if not out right beat Lane.

Final Score Simeon 20 Curie 13. Curie is a whole lot better than I thought, actually leading Simeon at halftime.
