I follow a tiered prioritized, multiple sources approach to recruiting based on priorities.
* 1st tier - internal candidates, current candidates, and referrals first.
* 2nd tier - ACE candidates through company web posting on career site, job postings on traditional job sites such as CareerBuilder and Monster.
* 3rd tier- niche and other sites such as veteran job boards, Craigslist, DICE, ebay classified, ZIP Recruiter, Resume Bucket, etc.* 4th tier- I have to seek out and actively engage candidates. I do this through resume mining and finding candidates on job boards, social media (such as LInkedIn), tools such as Talent Hook, and any other creative means possible. This could be endless. I’ve found resume and contacted references, I’ve searched for past applicants in previous jobs that were found on the ATS, and have even made lists the old fashioned way and made cold calls. A more recent example is using Topsy.com and SocialSearcher.com to find passive and active talent in ways other recruiters have never thought of.
