A recruiter friend of mine just introduced me to www.spoke.com . She claims that it's just like LinkedIn, except better. I haven't tested it yet, but after she showed me some of it's capabilities, it looks very promising.

Hi Neil,
As the Senior Marketing Manager for Spoke I would love to weigh in that Spoke is better. However, I think that each has its own value in the market space.
I see LinkedIn as a tool for professional networking from more of a recruiting, job hunting, within your network option. Spoke on the contrary is more of a "get in contact with people who are not in your network and you can't reach any other way" tool.
So which is better? Depends on what you need to do.
